Mr. Muditha S. G. Peiris Chairman & CEO

Litro Gas Lanka Limited & Litro Gas Terminal Lanka (Private) Limited.

Mr. Peiris served as the Managing Director of Litro Gas Lanka Ltd and Litro Gas Terminal Lanka (Private) Ltd from 2015 to 2019. During his tenure, Litro Gas gained market share from 60% to 80% which lead to a sharp growth of the company revenue from 26 Billion to 46 Billion annual turnover.

The Company thrived under the leadership of Mr. Muditha Peiris. With his vision of increasing the domestic LPG usage from 45% to 85%, creative and innovative measures were taken to enhance and gradually change the lifestyle of households who were using firewood and kerosene for domestic cooking. Industries which were using alternative energy in their manufacturing process were transformed seamlessly to use the cleaner, efficient and environmentally friendly energy option for economic development. This prompted Mr. Peiris to initiate a separate department with a highly qualified team for Health, Safety & Environment.

Mr. Muditha Peiris’s vision of increasing the domestic market share inspired him to forge ahead with establishing more Litro Gas points of sale for the convenience of customers to purchase their requirements within their neighborhood. Hence, the Litro Gas dealer network expanded from 3,500 to 12,500 island wide, creating direct and indirect jobs within those communities. As a result of market expansion and product availability, the Company’s bottom line steadily increased and Litro Gas was able to contribute Rs. 34.5 billion as tax and Rs. 13 billion as dividend to the government of Sri Lanka.

With the recent re-appointment of Mr. Muditha Peiris as the Chairman & CEO of Litro Gas Lanka Ltd and Litro Gas Terminal Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd on 15th June 2022, he formulated effective and efficient strategies with the Management Team to mitigate & eradicate the existing gas queues which was a result of the economic and social instability of the country during that period. The strategic plans were successfully implemented by the Litro Distributors and dealers together with the Litro Staff. Under Mr. Peiris’s direction, the Company was able to supply and distribute 2.2 million cylinders in 20 days. The seamless supply of LPG to the commercial and industrial sectors steadily revived the businesses and helped mitigate the economic crisis. Export oriented industries started functioning while the restaurants and eating houses recommenced their operations by recalling their employees and establishing their business and usual. As at today, there are no queues for gas and the Company too, was able to revive its business.

The experience and courageous leadership of Mr. Muditha Peiris has enabled him to formulate a long term strategy for the Company to ensure Sri Lanka will never have to face economic and social unrest due to the lack of LPG.
